Independence Charter
School (Independence Charter) is a public charter school
serving children in kindergarten through eighth grade in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In their sixth year of operation, the school felt it was time to present a
more polished external “face.”
context worked with the principal/CEO
and board of trustees on a pro bono basis to rethink their website.
Our work
context facilitated conversations with the principal/CEO, parent groups and other stakeholders to crystallize their vision for the Web redesign.
context developed the site's architecture and content based on this needs assessment. Working with the school's Web consultancy,
Nanomonkey,
context delivered a refreshed site that better represented the school's excellence.
Results
Following the launch of the new website design, Independence Charter received
instantaneous feedback that the site was not only more professional-looking,
but also easier to use, more comprehensive, a much-needed resource for day-to-day
information and a valuable communication channel.
Ongoing
context helped support Independence Charter's move to a new facility with the development and management of a parent online forum. This forum was the central location for construction updates.
